A3P Launches Campaign Opposing Retention of Colorado Supreme Court Justice Monica Márquez
DENVER – The Article III Project (A3P) today announced the formation of a Colorado independent expenditure committee, Article III Project Colorado, aimed at opposing the retention of Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Monica Márquez in the upcoming November 5th election.
This action, partnered with a new digital ad, follows Monica Márquez’s outrageous and unconstitutional decision to illegally remove former President Donald Trump from the Colorado ballot, a move later unanimously reversed by the Supreme Court of the United States.
Justice Monica Márquez, along with three other left-leaning justices in a sharply divided 4-3 ruling by the all-Democrat-appointed court, voted to remove Trump from the ballot, only to have their ruling reversed in a unanimous 9-0 decision by the U.S. Supreme Court. This decision not only highlights the radical, baseless nature of Márquez’s ruling, but also sends a clear message about the importance of accountability and upholding the rule of law.

“Monica Márquez and three other leftwing Colorado justices illegally took President Trump off the Colorado ballot. Monica Márquez attempted to disenfranchise over 550,000 Colorado Trump primary voters. Her decision was so egregious the Supreme Court of the United States had to step in and reverse her, 9-to-0, with even the three leftwing justices reversing her. Monica Márquez doesn’t respect the will of Colorado voters. She doesn’t respect democracy and the rule of law. So it’s time for Colorado voters to fire Monica Márquez in this November 5th election. Vote NO on the retention of Monica Márquez on the Colorado Supreme Court,” said Mike Davis, founder and president of the Article III Project.
The Article III Project (A3P) was founded by veteran GOP operative and attorney Mike Davis, who, after helping win the Senate confirmation battles of Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, developed the reputation as a “take-no-prisoners conservative eager to challenge the left with hardball tactics,” as reported in The New York Times.
A3P defends constitutionalist judges, punches back on radical assaults on judicial independence (like court-packing) and opposes judicial and other nominees who are outside of the mainstream. Davis previously served as Chief Counsel for Nominations to Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) on the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary and led the Senate confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and a record number of circuit court judges.
