WASHINGTON — Mike Davis, Founder and President of the Article III Project (A3P) and Internet Accountability Project (IAP), issued the following statement after President-elect Donald Trump selected Gail Slater to serve as the Assistant Attorney General for the Antitrust Division at the Department of Justice:

“I’ve known Gail for many years as a brilliant attorney, antitrust law expert, and one of our country’s best strategic legal thinkers. She is unquestionably the best choice to lead the DOJ’s antitrust division. Gail will lead the department’s antitrust law enforcement agenda with a clear-eyed vision for building a fairer, more competitive economy that prioritizes U.S. innovation, small business growth, and a level playing field for all.

“President Trump is committed to taking on Big Tech monopolists that crush competition, shutter small businesses, censor conservatives, and undermine American leadership and national security interests. Gail will serve as his top law enforcement officer at the DOJ in this critical battle. The Article III Project fully supports her nomination and urges the Senate Judiciary Committee and full chamber to confirm her promptly,” said Davis.

The Article III Project (A3P) was founded by veteran GOP operative and attorney Mike Davis, who, after helping win the Senate confirmation battles of Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, developed the reputation as a “take-no-prisoners conservative eager to challenge the left with hardball tactics,” as reported in The New York Times.‍

IAP is a nonprofit conservative advocacy group that holds Big Tech accountable for engaging in egregious business practices like snooping, spying, political bias against conservatives, employee abuses and anticompetitive conduct. Davis previously served as Chief Counsel for Nominations to Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) on the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary and led the Senate confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and a record number of circuit court judges.
