WASHINGTON — Mike Davis, Founder and President of the Article III Project (A3P), issued the following statement after President-elect Donald Trump selected Mark Meador as a Commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission:

“Congratulations to Mark Meador on President Trump’s nomination of him to serve as a commissioner at the Federal Trade Commission. Meador is a leading conservative legal scholar having served as antitrust counsel to Senator Mike Lee, one of our strongest and smartest senators.

“Meador’s previous experience working at the FTC and the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division prepared him perfectly to help lead the fight to hold Big Tech accountable and enforce our antitrust laws to stop monopolists from undermining innovation and competition.

“President Trump’s nomination of Gail Slater to lead the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division, appointment of Andrew Ferguson as FTC chair, and nomination of Mark Meador as an FTC commissioner represents the antitrust dream team. This antitrust trifecta will build upon President Trump’s work from his first term to cut Big Tech down to size so they will never again think it’s acceptable to crush competition, shutter small businesses, cancel conservatives, and do China’s bidding.” said Davis.

The Article III Project (A3P) was founded by veteran GOP operative and attorney Mike Davis, who, after helping win the Senate confirmation battles of Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, developed the reputation as a “take-no-prisoners conservative eager to challenge the left with hardball tactics,” as reported in The New York Times.‍

A3P defends constitutionalist judges, punches back on radical assaults on judicial independence (like court-packing) and opposes judicial and other nominees who are outside of the mainstream. Davis previously served as Chief Counsel for Nominations to Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) on the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary and led the Senate confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and a record number of circuit court judges.
