Alawyer previously tipped to be attorney general under a Donald Trump presidency has promised revenge on Trump's prosecutors.

Attorney Mike Davis vowed "severe" legal, political and financial consequences" for Democratic Party prosecutors, witnesses and judges for alleged persecution of Trump and his co-defendants.

Speaking on the YouTube channel of conservative commentator Benny Johnson, Davis singled out the prosecution of Trump and his valet, Walt Nauta for allegedly hiding classified documents in Trump's Florida estate.

"And guess what guys? There are going to be severe legal, political and financial consequences. We are not going to turn the other cheek, they can go to hell," he added.

Davis has been tipped to be Attorney General if Trump is elected president. He is president of the conservative group Article III Project that supports conservative judges.

In April, Davis told Johnson that he would introduce a "reign of terror" on Trump's prosecutors if appointed Attorney General.

"During my three-week reign of terror as Trump acting Attorney General, before I get chased out of town with my Trump pardon, I will reign hell on Washington, D.C.," he said.

After the Biden Administration posted the clip on X, formerly Twitter, Davis wrote on X that he is "not going to serve as AG" and "can't get confirmed."
